Primitivo has been grown in Puglia since time immemorial; it was first registered as a monoculture vineyard in 1799. Primitivo has historically been grown as “alberello” (head trained) where yields are very low and the fruit is completely exposed to sunlight for the entire growing season

SCENT blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and plums are all carried by a subtle, sweet, toasted oak flavor. The finish is soft and long with very graceful tannins and a beautiful body
VINIFICATION A Mano Primitivo is fermented very cold using its own wild yeast. Unique in this region, the grapes were fermented at 60°F in order to retain the raspberry aromas and freshness. After fermentation it rested in French (80%) and American (20%) barrels
